Overall purpose of the role:

Psychologist’s primary role is to function as the general point of contact for all matters pertinent to Project HOPE’s interventions in Ukraine assigned regions related to evaluating, diagnosing, and treating people for mental, emotional, behavioral, educational, and developmental disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the project team in the development and implementation of psychosocial support activities.
  • Implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to available services.
  • Assisting and training staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MH activities.
  • Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential.
  • Map existing national and humanitarian mental health and psychosocial support services that are accessible to vulnerable population. Develop and maintain an efficient mental health and social service referral system in coordination with other government and/or partner agencies.
  • Identification and case management of children and adults in need of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
  • Perform psychological assessments, testing, and evaluation and Provide diagnosis.
  • Making referrals to other support services for beneficiaries, in line with the specific needs identified and the range of services available.
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of all activities planned by the project within the targeted areas (active targeting, community sensitization, etc.) and in general of the organization’s activities in the project implementation areas.
  • Filling in the working tools for identification and follow-up: surveys and follow-up sheets, etc;
  • Ensure detailed information sharing about the evolution of the activities under his/her responsibility whenever requested.
  • Write periodical activity reports.
  • Report, document and follow up on problematic cases on a case-by-case basis in collaboration with the project team members.
  • Promote knowledge of child rights, child protection and gender issues among beneficiaries and other stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related area
  • 3−4 years of experience

Languages:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in local spoken languages.
